Kostanjevica castle - holiday Slovenia
Kostanjevica castle is located in southwest from the city with the same name. The castle belongs to one of the most beautiful monuments in Slovenia. Originally was there cistercian monastery from 13th century. In 1785 was the castle deserted. During the 2nd World War was the castle damaged and later damages was caused by an earthquake in 1984. From former castle remains only a court with arcade arches and a church of Virgin Mary originally from 12th century. Present look of the church is from 18th century. Nowadays we can find a museum in the castle.
