Timgad - holiday Algeria
Timgad is an ancient city in Algeria. Located in the northeastern part of the country in the region of Batna. It lies near the Aures mountains, about 30 km southeast of the city Batna . This is the former colonial Roman city. Timgad was founded by the Roman emperor Trajan in 100 AD as a military colony. The colony was built in the former architectural style typical of the Romans. The 3rd and 4 century AD, the city experienced its boom and became a Christian center. Then in the 5th City Timgad century conquered Vandals in the 6th Century took dominion over the city Berberové. In the 7th century the town was abandoned and so for several centuries disappeared. In 1881 it was re-excavated. Since 1982, the city 14,374,265 registered on the UNESCO World Heritage List ..
Several major tourist attractions can be mentioned in the town’s surroundings, like Djemila about 114 km
